DescriptionThe canvas is dominated by three male figures mounted on camels. The camels are traveling from left to right, facing the right edge of the canvas. All three figures are dressed in loose robes and have individual headdresses. The man on the left holds a gold box in both of his hands. The foreground under the camels’ feet is sand with outcropping of grasses. The middle ground, behind the camels, is sand dunes. The background is night sky with small stars. Even though it is night a light source comes from off the right side with shadows falling behind the camels.
