    DescriptionThe image is a portrait of a seated mature female figure clothed in a dark blue gown with a V-neckline under which a lace inset and collar are placed; a broach is pinned at the throat. The figure wears a lace cap with pink rosettes and pink ribbons over her brown hair with ringlets next to her face. The figure has a fringed shawl draped around her and tucked under both arms; she holds a fan in her left hand. The chair in which the figure sits is red.
