DescriptionL. background Adam and Eve "under the Tree of Life, indicating the fall of Man." "group of tents veside them are the Israelites in the wilderness bitten by the snakes and for whom Moses has erected a bronze snake on a cross.' Seated in center under the tree is Man with Isaiah the prophet at his right, and on his left is John the Baptist pointing out the Crucified Christ. Christ hangs on a cross in U.R. quarter; in foreground Christ steps on Death and the Devil. Above Christ (behind crucifixion) is a banner-bearing lamb symbolizing Christ.
