DescriptionThe image is a still life painting of a brass pot and six pears. The pot is shiny and very reflective; it has an open, circular brim and sits upright slightly to the left of center. The pot has one handle and two clawed feet are visible. To the left of the pot there is a yellow-green pear that is lying on its side with its stem facing right. The other five pears are on the right side of the pot, slightly in front of it. Three of these five are upright and the other two lay on their sides. The four pears nearest the pot on the right side are painted in shades of red and the one closest to the right edge is yellow-green. The surface that the objects rest on, as well as the background, is white. On View
