DescriptionThe image is a landscape executed in muted tones of brown and rust in which the foreground consists of a clearing within a woods with a lone dark figure placed just right of the center. Barren trees, just a hint of autumnal foliage still clinging to branches, fill in the middle ground on the left and the right with a small opening near the center that allows passage into the background of silhouetted trees.
