DescriptionThe image is a panoramic view of high desert hills and plateaus. The foreground is the top of a hillock with dried grasses, scattered rocks, and a shrub on the right hand side. Behind and to the left is a second hill, this one barren soil dotted with scrub brush. Behind the second hill is the descending edge of a red rock plateau. A small valley can be seen on the right below the single scrub on the right and the edge of the red rock. The middle ground is an open vista of plateaus and valleys. In the background are larger mountains, one closer on the right and further distant on the left.
