DescriptionThe image is a shorescape executed in an Impressionistic style featuring a rocky shore that develops left of center into a large rocky cliff that projects into the ocean and dominates the composition; the rock is done in mossy green tones with the tan support paper used as outlines. There is a small white structure on the cliffs at the middle far left of the composition, and at the pinnacle of the cliff a lighthouse sits just left of center. The dark blue water is visible in the bottom right quadrant with white frothy waves coming up to the grey cliffs. The sky is light blue with white and tan clouds, a cluster of which is at the upper right side of the page, and a line of clouds rests behind the lighthouse nearly touching the horizon line.
