DescriptionThe image is a landscape, featuring a grove of aspen trees with tall mountains in the background. The aspens are broken into two groups by a subtle, dirt walking path, with the larger group of trees on the left. The leaves are muted shades of orange, yellow, and green. On the right side of the path, there is a stump approximately one third from the right edge of the work. Just behind it, a fallen aspen trunk lies horizontally on the ground and reaches the right edge of the painting. There are other fallen branches among the grass and shrubs. In the background, the mountains are layered in shades of warm, earth tones. A steep mountain line swoops from the upper left down to the center of the painting. There is a small area of light blue sky visible in the upper right quadrant.
