    DescriptionThe image is an interior domestic scene in which a female figure is seated at a small table holding a doll upright with fabric draped around it. The female figure is placed just right of center and faces the left edge of the composition; the table is to the left of center and has a cloth covering the top. In addition to the doll the figure is holding a second doll sits on the tabletop, three stand on a shelf in the left background, and others lay in a large basket at the figure's feet, the same basket out of which the fabric is drawn. A mantel piece can be seen in the background on the right.
