DescriptionA selection of photographs showing various objects in the familiar setting of the artist's former home will be wall mounted in a grid-like fashion of a "strippy quilt." In front of the the photos, small vitrines containing objects will be placed. The objects will correspond to the photos and will be arranged according to their weight. The selection of objects will be accompanied by text that will relate to an event of migration or flight (including: handcart migration to Utah; 19th-century migration of German settlers to Australia; First Fleet transportation to Botany Bay; forced migration of single British women to Australia, etc.) A collection of serving trays also arranged in a quilt-like pattern will hang on the opposite wall.On View
