DescriptionThree women in peasant clothing hold piles of wheat in their arms in the center of the image. The central figure stands with a blue skirt facing the viewer with her face gazing left. She holds wheat over their right shoulder. The figure to her left bends down as if to pick up the wheat near the basket. The woman on the right looks to the left and behind the center woman while holding wheat in her left arm. In the mid-ground to the left is another woman bending to pick up wheat. All are in a field which opens widely to haystacks on the far right and on the left. The open field is surrounded by tall dark trees and above is a light pink sky.
