DescriptionHalf-length full-face view of a seated woman with her eyes cast down. Her head is tilted slightly to the right and her clasped hands rest on an outlined desk at left. Behind the chair on which she is seated is a piece of carved furniture showing through the heavily shaded background. A strong light falls from the left.
