DescriptionThe image is a knee-length portrait of a standing male figure dressed in a Civil War era military uniform; the figure turns his head to the right edge of the support, his brown hair shows from under the military cap and he has a beard but no mustache. The uniform consists of a knee-length dress coat with a stand-up collar, gold buttons down the front, gold epaulets, a red corded and tasseled sash around the waist, and black trousers. The figure has both hands in front of him resting on the hilt of a sword. The background is mostly a yellow-gray sky with a faraway dark green landscape.
