DescriptionThe image is a pastoral landscape in which the foreground consists of flat green pasture on which a figure crosses near the center traveling into the work approaching a herd of cows. A line of trees crosses the width of the middle ground dividing the green pasture in the foreground from the brown toned valley floor behind in the back middle ground; structures can be seen on the valley floor. The valley floor rises into a foothill on the left; a range of mountains fills the background. The sky is filled with atmospheric clouds that cast shadows on the ground beneath.
