DescriptionThe image is a landscape painting in which the foreground consists of gently undulating open pasture land with exposed rock ledge and tree stumps dotted throughout. In the middle ground a bank of trees in autumn color foliage spans the width of the composition. Beyond the trees a body of water can be seen with rocks appearing as islands centrally. The background is the silhouette of a small mountain range that is higher on the left and gradually descends to water level on the right.
