RACHEL GRANT TAYLOR1878 - 1969

Taylor, Rachel Grant (1878-1969), showed her oils and watercolors at Lion House in November 1959. This Salt Lake City-based painter was one of the numerous students of Joseph Alma Freestone Everett (q.v.), the teacher most closely associated with Lion House among all the more major artists in our state's history. Like virtually all of her fellow Everett art students, she specialized in realist renderings of landscape and flower themes but more typically the transparent watercolor medium.

Olpin, Robert S., William C. Seifrit, and Vern G. Swanson. ARTISTS OF UTAH. Salt Lake City: Gibbs Smith Publisher, 1999: 253.
