BiographyYoung, James "Jim" L. (1937-), of Price, Utah, studied art at Carbon College (CEU), and has been a professor there for more than three decades. Having also served his school for quite a number of years as the head of the CEU art program, Jim Young is an abstract sculptor who earned degrees at Brigham Young University (B.A., 1959; M.A.) and at Utah State University (M.F.A.). He was a teacher at Corvallis High School in Oregon before his career at CEU began, and he also served on the Carbon County School District Board of Education and, more recently, on the statewide semester articulation committee for general education. He is the father of sculptor Todd Young. (b. November 29)
