BiographyAmerican painter of murals and figure compositions ws born in Boston, Mass. in 1851. He studied at in Paris with Boulanger and Lefebvre and in 1887 he won the Clarke Prize at the National Academy and a Silver Medal at the Paris Exposition in 1889. Then the Lippencott Prize, Philadelphia in 1906 and the Carnegie Medal 1886 and a member of the Ten American Painters.
