BiographyRalph Huntsman's full name was Solon Ralph Hustman, but he went by Ralph throughout his life. He was born August 26, 1896 in Logandale, Nevada to Solon Edwin and Mary Etta Dotson Huntsman. He married Jetta Mariah Leavitt on June 17, 1919 in the St. George temple. His wife died on April 3, 1970.
Ralph Hutsman graduated from Bunkerville High School. He attended BYU Provo and graduated from college in 1928 (Class of 1928). He served during World War I in the army as a bugler. He taught school at Bunkerville and in Mesquite, Nevada.
He later moved to St. George where he taught at Dixie High School and Dixie College in the art department for 25 years.
He attended every gradutation at Dixie College from 1936-1994.
He loved gardening, working in the yard and people. He was a people person. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved the scouting program.
He was a member of the American Legion Lester-Keate Post 90. He assisted in starting the St. George Arts Festival.
