JENNI CHRISTENSENborn 1949

This fine printmaker (hand-colored etching) is originally from Salt Lake City, grew up in Hawaii, and she and her husband, Day Christensen (q.v.), now make their home in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Jenni attended Brigham Young University before becoming a teacher there; she is one of this area's more interesting artists dealing in flower subjects. Today she is represented by work in the LDS Church Museum, the Springville Museum of Art, the Salt Lake County Fine Art Collection, BYU, etc. Along with Royden Card (q.v.), she had a 1997-98 show at the Salt Lake City Arts Council's Art Barn. According to the summer 1997 issue of "City Arts," the newsletter of the council: "[We are] pleased to announce the selection of 14 proposals for artists' exhibitions . . . . Artists chosen to exhibit in the Finch Lane and Park Galleries are as follows: '. . . Jenni Christensen, "mixed media": large gourds on which are applied oil paint, powdered pigment and mineral oil to produce colorful floral images.'" (b. September 12)
