DescriptionThis image is a landscape genre scene. In the scene, there is a trail running diagonally from the lower left corner into the distance between two mountains. In the left foreground, there is a covered wagon a distance away from the rest of the wagons, appearing to be the last in the train. To the right of the wagon, a male figure stands with left leg resting on the wheel. A female figure holds up the side of the cover as she holds a baby in order to speak to the man. Two reddish oxen are at the front of the wagon, and a barrel and plow are strapped to the back. In the right foreground is a golden-leaved deciduous tree. The upper third of the image is a dusky sky, the sun's rays radiating out through the clouds. On View
