DescriptionThe image is a landscape dominated by a large old growth tree with a divided trunk rooted in the lower left of the canvas. One slim trunk rises vertically while a second thicker trunk cuts diagonally across the visual plane to the upper right corner. Under the tree in the right foreground is a split rail fence. In the middle ground is a body of water behind which flat pasture land and trees recede into the distance.
