DescriptionThe image is a bucolic landscape in which the foreground consists of grasses and foliage in shadow. The left edge is dominated by trees that extend the entire height of the canvas. The center foreground contains grasses with a puddle of water that is left of center. On the right, shrubs shelter a bovine lying in the grass. A second bovine is seen emerging from behind the shrubbery. A view opens into the middle ground that is a flat open plain that extends to the mountains in the background.
