DescriptionA snowy landscape is the setting for a scene busy with activity; in the right foreground a group of standing male figures, all clothed in heavy winter outer wear, carry axes and splitters. In the left middle ground additional male figures guide teams of yoked oxen pulling carts with wagon wheels twice the height of the men. Wooden structures can be seen on both the left and the right behind the activity; the background is filled in with dense forest.
