DescriptionThe image is a townscape in which an unpaved road fills the right foreground and travels into the left middle ground on which two figures are placed; the figure on the left is a n adult male figure and the figure on the right is a juvenile female. In the foreground to the left of the road it is edged with low foliage, to the right is a high stone fence with a slatted gate and the thatch roof of a building. In the middle ground both sides of the road are lined with village buildings, with the road ending at a tower gate or facade of a church.On View
