DescriptionThe object is a tall grandfather clock made of dark rosewood. The lowest section contains a central, oval carving; the middle section has a glass cover to enable the viewer to see the pendulum; the upper section contains the clock face with a golden, engraved background. The clock face contains Arabic numerals, elaborate scrolling, and a sun and moon movement directly above the 12. There are twin, doric columns on either side of the clock face and the pendulum. The top of the clock has a rounded, decorative cut. The base of the clock is stationed on carved lions-paw feet. On View
