DescriptionThe image is an interior domestic scene consisting of four figures gathered around a wooden table; three figures are seated and one figure is standing. Seated around the table are two female figures, at the ends of the table, and a male figure, on the far side; the female figures both have caps covering their hair, heads bowed, and are seated on stools. The male figure faces the viewer with his right hand placed on the table next to a plate with a loaf of bread on it. The fourth figure, a male juvenile, stands in a darkened opening on the left. On the wall that serves as the backdrop there is the pendulum and weights of a clock hanging on the left and a coat hanging on the right; in front of the table is a chair with a coat laying on the seat.On View
