    DescriptionA domestic scene set in the outdoors, two women on the left of the canvas work in front of a rope line with hanging laundry. One woman wears a bonnet and hangs up clothes on clothesline; the other woman holds a bundle of laundry in front of her face. In the center of the composition other female washes clothes in a washtub, while behind her a fourth woman hangs more laundry. Two men watch from the right side; one man sits with him legs crossed while another stands beside him. Palm trees and a large body of water with a boat lie in the background.
