DescriptionThe image depicts a winter scene of figures, both male and female, ice skating on what appears to be a frozen pond or lake. In the foreground, placed just right of center, a pair of skaters is caught mid-glide; the female is clothed in a red sweater, red hat, and a brown skirt while the male is in brown knickers, a green jacket and cap and holds a hockey stick resting on his shoulder. In the middle ground, on the far right edge, an additional pair of skaters can be seen, the female figure is clothed in a long black dress, fur muff and an orange hat and the a male figure wears gray knickers with a red coat. Five other skaters are placed in the left background; snow covered pine trees and ground provide the backdrop.
