DescriptionThe image is a seascape and is dominated by two junks (Japanese sailboats) with white sails, aboard the ships are one or two sailors, respectively. Off to the left are two more ships in relatively sharp detail. On the right are six more ships, in varying degrees of proximity to the two largest ships. Two of them are small and just visible on the horizon. The left side of the background features a harbor town, behind which a small mountain range slopes off to the right side of the painting.
