DescriptionCast Iron stove with 2 scroll-shaped columns decorated with vines, follated circles and beading which support an elaborate cross-piece ornamented with classical motifs. On top of cross-piece is an eagle with outspread wings standing over a United States shield. In rear of cross-piece is the flue opening. The arch stands on a rectangular box-shaped stove which has double square doors, decorated, and with drafts in the front, just above which in fancy lettering is marked: LOW & LEAKE. In front is a shaped tray with a decorated and raised register, and a decorated border. On the right side is a square decorated border. On the right side is a square decorated door over which is marked in fancy lettering: ALBA N.Y. The left side has no door but is decorated and has the same lettering. In the rear over a decorated panel it is marked: PATENTED AUGUST 10TH 1844. the stove stands on four shaped an decorated feet.
