Description(A) Sewing machine with molded wood top from which is suspended a plain wood drawer with keyhole. It is supported by two iron ornamental brackets painted green with gold trim in which there is a large W over a G, and on the base of which are the raised words: WILCOX & GIBBS S.M. CO. NEW YORK. The pierced foot treadle has the shape of two feet joined by an arch in which appears a W. over a G. the machine has a rotary hook, vibrating feed, and a semi-circular needle arm. The needle mechanism is painted black decorated with grape levels and bunches of grapes. Marked in raised letters on the wheel joint for the treadle: WILCOX & GIBBS and the patent date 1870.
