DescriptionThe work features an image box in the middle. Above the image box there is the title of the work "SPHINX". Within the image there are two figures. One is a male figure, and another is a human and animal hybrid. The figure has the face of a human, body of a lion and bird wings. The hybrid figure is facing the left hand side and the male figure. It is atop a stand made of columns. The male figure is wearing Greek style robes. It is night and the moon is seen in the upper left corner. Outside of the image there are two paragraphs of text in the lower center.
