DescriptionThe image's foreground is filled with a large group of male figures dressed in American frontier period clothing; most of the figures carry long rifles. In the central middle ground a large brick structure with a wooden ell on the right side has a small clearing in front of it in which one male figure lays on the ground and a second stands at his head as if ready to collapse. Rays of bright light stream down upon the two figures from the upper right corner.
