DescriptionThe image is a landscape executed in an Impressionistic style in which a sky filled with large darkening clouds casts shadows on the ground below. The foreground consists of flat fields in shadow with a single strip of land in the middle right bright with sunlight. In the background three large hills, or small mountains, are dark in deep shadow.
