DescriptionThe image is a snowscape executed in a portrait orientation in which a snow covered foreground has ochre colored grass stocks showing through with a large shadow caste on the lower edge. In the middle ground a cluster of ochre colored trees and shrubs extend across the composition dividing the foreground from the background; a split rail fence can be seen behind the trees on the right. A snow cover hill rises in the background, with a sliver of blue sky visible at the top.
