ELBERT H. PORTER

born 1917
Biographyof West Jordan, Utah, is a sculptor and painter who held teaching appointments in the Department of Art (1947-54) and the Department of Sculpture (1954-62) at the University of Utah during Avard Fairbanks' (q.v.) time at that institution. Porter's painting of "Orderville" (Daughters of Utah Pioneers) is quite well known locally as a topographical study of that early United Order settlement in southern Utah; so are his sculptural dinosaurs.
