BiographyFairbanks, Justin Fox (1926-), of Thatcher, Arizona, is yet another of Avard Fairbanks's (q.v.) sons. An extremely talented sculptor and a very knowledgeable casting technician born in Eugene, Oregon, Justin Fairbanks was destined to work as a highly effective, very dedicated, and entirely kind and delightful teacher under his father for a number of years during the 1950s and 1960s in the University of Utah's old Department of Sculpture. He then moved away to become a college art teacher, no longer in the shadow of the huge presence that was his artist father. In turn, Justin Fairbanks is the proud father of sculptor Daniel Justin Fairbanks (q.v.). (b. July 12)
