HARRY G. TAYLOR

born 1918
BiographyTaylor Harry George (1918-), is a talented Ogden printmaker and photographer. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Taylor studied at the Art Institute of Chicago (M.F.A., 1949). Associated early with Boris Anisfeld, S. W. Hayter, and Moishe Smith (q.v.), his work is in a number of Utah collections; he has also exhibited nationally. Taylor taught at St. Bonaventure-Olean in New York (summer 1947) and at Weber State (1959) in Ogden; he held the position of art director for Meridian Publications in Ogden (1960-77). He was also a member of a number of organizations, including the Ogden Palette Club of which he was vice president in 1967. His style and technique shows an emphasis on bold design in woodcut, etching, and photo process. (b. August 17)
