PAUL HOWARD DAVIS

BiographyThis effective painter, teacher, and arts administrator is a professor of art who served as chair of the Department of Art at the University of Utah for six years during the 1980s. Originally from Providence, Rhode Island, he has taught drawing, painting, and anatomy at the Art Institute of Boston; life drawing and painting at Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts; and basic design, anatomy, and life drawing at Boston University. The holder of B.F.A. and M.F.A. degrees from Boston University's famed School of Fine and Applied Arts, Davis had work exhibited in shows at the Art Institute of Boston, the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., Regis College, and Boston University. Also a courtroom artist before coming to Utah in the mid-1970s, Davis is married to the very talented and successful sculptor Silvia Lis Davis (q.v.). (b. December 2)
