Biography(1949- ) ceramicist, sculptor, and educator, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; studied at the Tyler School of Art (1964-67); then, as a student at the Boston Museum's School of Fine Arts, earned a B.S. from Tufts University (1971). Abraham also received an M.F.A. from the Rochester Institute of Technology (1973). She was an instructor for the Framingham and Boston Public Schools (1970), Boston State College (1971), the Rochester Institute (1972-73), and an assistant professor of ceramics and sculpture at Southern Utah State College (SUU) in Cedar City (1975-77). Afterward, Abraham taught at El Camino College in Torrance, California (1980-81), and was a Burbank Fine Arts Federation grantee (1981). While in Utah, Carol Abraham was known for a porcelain formula called "thixotropic" clay.
