DescriptionThe image is a landscape dominated by a single church structure which fills the central and left middle ground of the composition, surrounded by natural vegetation. The church is white with green shutters at the windows; it has a gabled roofline with a cupola on the top, an extending vestibule with a matching roofline extends off the front of the building. A flock of black birds settle on the roof and a chimney stack appears at the back of the ridge. Three figures are placed at the front of the building; a couple composed of a male and female figures walk away from the church while a second male figure bends down to the doorknob on the church door.
