DescriptionThe image is of a seated human figure playing an instrument and facing two music stands. The lower fifth of the background is checkered floor, while the rest of the background in a dark gray. On the right side are the two golden-yellow music stands, each supporting paper booklets, presumably sheet music. The human figure is on the left side of the painting. He wears extravagant and hyperbolic clothing reminiscent of renaissance-era style. His pantaloons are striped and knee length. He wears one white sock and one checkered sock. Hanging near his right knee is a ring of golden keys. His arms are raised to hold the long, thin, golden instrument. His spindly fingers are placed around its neck and he holds it up to his mouth. The instrument extends all the way to the music stands, splitting into two separate horns. The human's cheeks are puffed up, and his eyes squint. To his right is a large leafy plant rising from a small golden pot, partially obscured by the human figure.
