DescriptionThe image depicts four female figures, clothed in sheer Grecian-style gowns, in a line that extends across the composition; each figure balances on her proper left foot with the right foot lifted behind, arms outstretched while hands hold scarfs that billow behind. The performance takes place in the flat foreground with a backdrop of trees and foliage behind; a small area of sky is visible in the upper right quadrant.
