DescriptionThe image is an illustration for the publication Harper's Weekly. The composition consists of large deciduous trees in the background, three wooden single storied structures in the mid-ground, and a large crowd of seated male figures gathered around the wooden structures. The middle, and largest, structure has a male figure with one arm raised facing the crowd. A few animals pulling carriages are scattered throughout the scene including some cows and horses.
