DescriptionThe object is a bronze sculpture of a male Native American figure mounted on a horse; the figure rides bareback but there is a rope bridle that swops from the horse's mouth to where the figure's proper left hand is resting, at the bottom of the horse's mane. The figure is wearing a feathered headdress that cascades down his back, almost to his foot. He also wears a loin cloth and moccasins; the figure's right arm is held high with a long spear or javelin grasped in his hand. The left hand rests on the reins at the base of the horse's neck. The horse's two front legs are straight and even; its proper right back leg is a step positioned in front of the proper left back leg.
