DescriptionA stagecoach drawn by a team of four horses fills the visual plane. Two male figures sit at the front atop the coach, one holds the horse's reigns in his hands, the other slumps over as if injured or dead. At the front of the team of horses a Native American in full headdress puts his hand up to one of the horses. On the left, at the side of the coach, another Native American figure hold a gun on a group of passengers with a bottle in his other hand. At his feet a third Native American figure collects objects in a blanket. Among the passengers a woman, with a suitcase open at her feet, deposits jewelry in the blanket and a man in a suit and hat puts up his hands. Scrub and grass fill in the foreground and steep cliffs are the background.
