    DescriptionThe image in an exterior domestic scene in which a female figure leans over a retaining wall to launder textiles in a body of water; the body of water fills the foreground with the retaining wall and the figure placed in the middle ground. The figure washes an article in her hand, an article lays on the retaining wall to the left and at the end of the retaining wall on the right a pile of articles is placed. A stone or brick wall runs diagonally from the middle left into the back right and a thatched roof can be seen above the figure.
