DescriptionThe image is of a juvenile female figure seated in a large caned bentwood chair; the figure is clothed in a white dress, black stockings and shoes and large blue bows in her brown hair. With a large magazine or book open on her lap, the figure leans her head against the back of the chair and places one foot on an ottoman in front of her. Behind the figure on the right is a mantel piece; a vase and a second object are on the mantel and an ornate fire grate is in the firebox.
