DescriptionThis painting is a group portrait of Tadema's two daughters; Anna, in the center, and Lawrence on the right, and his late wife Laura, on the left. Anna has red hair, and is holding vibrant pink roses in a vase with her left hand. Lawrence has blond hair and is carrying a green vase of white roses with both hands. White roses also adorn her hair. Laura is in the LLC, wearing yellow roses in he hair, inhaling the sweet scent of another yellow rose. She is faded and her roses are wilting, while the other girls' roses are fresh and full. The background is an expansive blue sky with white clouds.
